Review of Exporail 2009

Exporail 2009 attracted some 3,000 senior rail and transport industry professionals from 29 countries. This represented an increase of 18% on the number attending the previous exhibition in 2007.

Exhibitors from 15 countries took part in Exporail and the accompanying INTERtunnel 2009 tunnelling technology show. They included leading companies from various European countries as well as from Russia. Feedback from exhibitors indicated a high level of satisfaction at the number and quality of visitors and at the organisation of the event.

The opening ceremony for the exhibition was performed by Mr Juri V Mitrochin, Head of Department for Technical Policy at RZD, assisted by other senior transport industry figures. Activities staged successfully alongside Exporail included an Open Dialogue Sessions Programme addressing the theme ‘The Railway Industry: From Investments to Technologies’ and an evening networking reception.
