DATES CONFIRMED FOR EXPORAIL 2010 IN
MOSCOW - September 2009
Dates have been confirmed for Exporail 2010. The fourth in this series of highly successful exhibitions of railway technology and services will take place at Moscow’s Expocentr from 17 to 19 March 2010. Now well established in the international rail industry’s calendar, the show provides a unique showcase for the very latest in equipment and systems for infrastructure, rolling stock and all related market sectors.
Held with the support of Russian Railways (RZD) and the Ministry of Transport, Exporail is being staged during a period of unprecedented long-term investment in the country’s rail network. Plans include the construction of more than 20,000 km of new lines and the wholesale modernisation of traction and rolling stock fleets. Also endorsing Exporail 2010 is the International Transport Academy and the Department for Transport and Infrastructure of the Government of Moscow.
The 2010 event will build on the very positive industry response to the three previous Exporail shows in Moscow, the most recent of which took place in March this year. Visitor numbers to that event and the accompanying INTERtunnel exhibition of tunnelling technologies and equipment reached a new record of some 3,000 senior rail and transport industry professionals, plus infrastructure specialists from 29 countries. Exhibitors at the combined 2009 shows totalled 150, around two-thirds of them from outside Russia.
Taking place alongside Exporail 2010 will be a high-level international conference covering aspects of transport policy and railway strategy in Russia. Organised by RZD-Partner Business Magazine, this is expected to attract key Russian legislators, senior RZD managers and other leading transport decision-makers.
The Russian capital’s prestigious Expocentr remains the venue for Exporail 2010, which again will be staged in Halls 3, 4 and 5 of the new Pavilion 7. INTERtunnel 2010 will take place alongside Exporail.
Both Exporail and INTERtunnel are organised by Restec Brooks Exhibitions, a joint venture of Mack Brooks Exhibitions Ltd in the United Kingdom and the St Petersburg-based Restec Exhibition Company.

INCREASED VISITOR AND EXHIBITOR NUMBERS UNDERLINE SUCCESS OF MOSCOW RAIL AND TUNNELLING SHOWS - April 2009
Some 3,000 transport and tunnelling industry professionals visited Exporail 2009 and INTERtunnel 2009, which took place successfully at Moscow’s Expocentr from 18 to 20 March. This represents an increase of 18% compared to the number attending the last joint event in October 2007.
While most show visitors came from the Russian Federation, nearly 20% were from a further 32 countries, underlining the growing international significance of these two exhibitions.
And at a total figure of 150, exhibitor numbers were also 20% up on the 2007 shows. Around two-thirds of the organisations taking part were from various European countries, with the remainder from Russia. High-level support for Exporail was provided by Russian Railways (RZD) and the International Transport Academy, while INTERtunnel had the backing of the Russian Tunnelling Association.
Activities taking place alongside Exporail included an Open Dialogue Sessions Programme addressing the theme ‘The Railway Industry: From Investments to Technologies’. This featured contributions from key policy makers and industry figures from Russia and beyond.
More than 100 delegates attended a one-day INTERtunnel conference organised with the support of the Russian Tunnelling Association. Topics that included transport development in more challenging economic times were discussed.
Exporail 2009 and INTERtunnel 2009 were organised by Restec Brooks Exhibitions, a joint venture of Mack Brooks Exhibitions Ltd in the United Kingdom and the St Petersburg-based Restec Exhibition Company.
The 4th Exporail and the 3rd INTERtunnel exhibitions will take place at Moscow’s Expocentr from 17 to 19 March 2010. Both events will have the support of RZD, the Russian Tunnelling Association, the Department for Transport and Infrastructure of the Government of Moscow, and the International Transport Academy.
